Film granule or polyethylene film granule is one of the uses of polyethylene materials, which are generally divided into two categories: light polyethylene film and heavy polyethylene film. Polyethylene has a wide range of applications due to its low price, good processability, high impact and chemical resistance, and electrical insulation, and it is most widely used in films that are used in packaging, as well as bags and food covers.
Film means a thin layer of material that has regular continuity and high flexibility. A film granule may have one or more layers of different materials, according to which, the thickness of the layers varies and can vary from 5.0 micrometers to 1 mm.
Types of film granules
1- Heavy film granules
Heavy duty polyethylene HDPE is an inexpensive, milky white, semi-transparent plastic thermoplastic that is better than LDPE in terms of flexibility and durability, and has better impact resistance.
HDPE films are tougher than other polyethylene films, which is an important feature for packaging that needs to retain its shape. These materials can easily be combined with other polymers such as polyolefins, fillers and pigments and change their properties.
Applications of heavy film granules
Heavy polyethylene has many different applications depending on the molecular weight of the polymer chain. 1-Ex5 grade film heavy granule
EX5 is a high molecular weight heavy polyethylene copolymerized with 1-butene. Due to the high tensile strength of EX5, it can be used in the production of all kinds of plastic bags and packaging films.
Other properties include good physical and chemical resistance, high tensile strength, and tear resistance.

2- Film light granules (LDPE)

Polyethylene 2420 is a film light polyethylene (LDPE) produced in two types 2420H and 2420D. One of the features of 2420H is that it does not have an additive package such as antiblock and slip agent to produce thin films, and as the last point, the recommended thickness for this film granule is 20 to 100 microns.
It should be noted that this grade is not used for medicinal purposes.
